What bad luck dude.
I'd look at a Sentra or early model G20.

Actually I went to buy a 91 sentra SE-R the other night, 2500, not bad it had 109k on it good shape anyways I called my insurance agent.... right now I'm payin 3200 a year for my G (I'm on my own policy and only 20, it sucks to be young). So to add the sentra, and get liability only it was gunna be another 2k a year, I was like WTF????@?!
So screw the second car Idea, I can't afford it until: I get married Turn 25 And the damn insurance company lets the bug up its ass die. Chris

Hmm. You might want to look into insuring the G20 as a pleasure vehicle, not a commuter vehicle, and set a mileage limit on it (like 6000-8000 miles a year). This will drop the rates on that car by a fair amount. Also you can look into specialty insurance companies, that specialize in insuring vehicles that are for pleasure, show, or track, and are driven less than 6000 miles a year. One other thing, is to increase your deductables. For my car, it is dumb to have the deductable at $500. A new bumper alone costs 1500, so i set my deductable at 1500, and save a lot of money.
If it makes you feel better, it would cost $3600 a year to insure my car (88 e30 m3) if it were in my name. In my mother's name it costs $1400. I am 22 and have a clean driving record for the past 5 years. If I were to insure a 2001 pathfinder (with the car in my name), it would cost me $1600 a year. So let's see: the m3 is much safer, handles a million times better, gives more feedback costs twice as much to insure as an suv. Insurance companies are dumb.
