SWAP Complete

Target car: 1990 Honda Civic LX 4 door

Goal: b16a SiR Gen1 Motor
PW0 5spd ecu
Y1 LSD transmission

Parts(besides engine, tranny,etc.)

1.Mounts- I bought AZ race and Machine ones. $200 bucks of ebay, they are like the billet AL. copies of HAsport.
2.Shiftlinkage. Im using modifies 90-93 Integra. Cost: 10bucks vs.110bucks. All i did was cut of about 3in of each rod and bingo!!
3.Drivers side mount bracket and rear mount bracket off a 90-93 teg.
4.Exhaust bolted up fine.
5.New Honda p30 timing belt for a 99si
6. New clutch for a 90 integra
7. 2 gallons of oil (8 quarts, yeah extra)
8. Oil filter
9.Radiator fluid 50/50 mix, 2 gallons
10. 5th gen Slim radiator, Full Alluminum core and tanks

Well i was cheap, didnt want to make or buy an a/c bracket, so i scrapped the air, wasnt cold anyway. Then i looked at the p/s, All i had was a gen 2 p/s pump and crank pulley, and a gen1 alternator and crank pulley. I didnt want to have to get anothe alternator or p/s pump. So... i made a sacrifice and got rid of that also!

Started at about 10am....Yeah i know i skipped school to finish it!
The old engine took a while to get out. I spent like 1hr breaking the fricking ball joints to get the axles out. Had the old motor out by 1pm. Had fun beating the crap out of the rear X-member. These mounts need more clearance than hasports. Put the new one in. I have never put an engine in from the top. Im always a bottom person. It wasnt that bad either. After i got it in i hooked it all up getting ready to test it out. I was just in a hurry to hear it. Plugged in the ECU, and it started right up! Well sorta, It threw like 5 CEL's but it started. I still have to get a new speed sensor, FI o-rings, etc.

Ok are the pictures below.....
These pictures are also kinda old... I took them last night and i did some cleanup on vac lines and wiring this morning.

p/s is pictured but it is gone!

Look short radiator, hmm wonder why, whats going in the other place?

Front view w/o radiator

Yep i got VTECH PHONE inside!

Tools required: Or mess made!
and

Currently running a modded 90-91 Teg dizzy, works fine...

Okay i give up, Here is all the room i have when i attempt to turbo another one of my cars again....

And to finish it up. Here is a pic of the 500K vaccum lines that i had to get capped or moved around! oh well you get the idea. BTW they are all cleaned up much nicely now!

Thanks for looking.
Andrew

Re: SWAP Complete

Looks good i thought about taking off my bumper and everything but i didn't. Looks like it makes things easier to get to so i may have to go ahead and take mine off too. I need to do some brace work to it anyways cause the bumpers a little loose.

Re: SWAP Complete

Thanks for the comments.
I had to take the bumper off because my hood latch snapped. Thats why the cable is cut off.

The short radiator. Well the one i got is an aftermarket one. All i have it is placed in there. Im setting it up by cutting a little of the radiator support so i can have it sit up straight, otherwise it would have to set on an angle.

Ill post pics when im done modding the radiator.

No havent drove it yet. I want to get all of the wiring done, cleanup finished, bumper and radiator, and a fan in also. Need to get the drivers axle on. As well as finish exhaust and get a speed sensor.
I was going to get it today but i ficking overslept! So i will have to wait until tuesday to go to the junkyard.
Oh well!

The swap was the easiest i have ever done. Mainly because of that air compressor! Ahh where would i be without it!
