95 Talon rpm fluctuations - stalling
95 Eagle Talon TSI (non turbo) - automatic
Hi, My Talon will turn over, but won’t start - fan kicks in right away. Got it to start once, but it stalled within a minute (while still in park) and the fan started. Before it got to the point where it wouldn’t start, it would idle roughly while still parked - the rpms would go up and down without touching the accelerator. The same thing happens while driving - I will be going 55 and the tachometer will suddenly drop and the check engine light comes on. It has stalled twice while I was driving and also stalled once when I was just starting to pull out after warming it up. Took it to a mechanic two months ago for the stalling/hesitation/rpm fluctuation and he replaced the oxygen sensor and cleaned out the throttle body. (Nothing came up on diagnostics.) Ran much better for a while but then got to the current state where I can't even get it started. Mechanic has mentioned changing the crankshaft sensor. Just wondering if anybody out there has an opinion on whether this could be the problem or something else. I know very little about auto maintenance, just looking for feedback on possible solutions for this problem. Thanks in advance! |

Re: 95 Talon rpm fluctuations - stalling
If you have the extra $$ I really suggest taking it to a chrysler/jeep/eagle dealership that has a shop/service center. I know they charge an arm and a leg but.... one thing I have found out is that the "everyday/average mek a nik" will have a hard time working on DSM's
