Someone recommended this combo, what are your guys opinions?

I hope that's just a link to show us...wouldn't pay anywhere NEAR that much for those components. Also, i'd look into a more powerful amplifier AT LEAST 100rms x 2 for decent components. peace

No, it looks like I can get the set for $100 and the amp for $150. Doesn't the amp say 150x2? What amps should I look at? Are the speakers and amp decent?

It's only 75 rms x 2 @4ohm (Your components are 4ohm, so each side would only see 75rms). peace

Ahh I forgot the impedance of the speakers are 4 ohm. Are these speakers quality? I don't really know much about Orion or Polk. What are some other amps you guys recommend?

Re: Orion and Polk for amp and component?

For $100 dollars, thats a pretty good deal. Not a huge fan of Polk, but if you are getting that same model brand new for 100, that would be pretty hard to beat. For a cheap, reliable amp to power them....Profile AP1000 should work.

Re: Orion and Polk for amp and component?

That amp will slap those componets around with no problem. Personally, I like to pick matching sets of things. So, if I want a nice componet, then I'll find a matching amp from that company. I'd go for Orion's P series componets.

Re: Orion and Polk for amp and component?

eh, it doesnt really matter. clean power is clean power, I understand what your talking about though, but in this case, he will be 100% fine. Ex. of what your talking about, JBL GTI's seem to perform outstanding when strapped to Crowns.

I checked out that amp and it puts out more power for less money, so I think I'm sold. Crutchfield has it for $139.99 with a 3 year warranty. Discount Car Stereo has it for $99.99 but I don't see anything about a warranty. Will Crutchfield match prices? I'd rather order from them as I have a little experience and it comes with a 3 year warranty. If not, has anyone ever used Discount Car Stereo, opinions?
