Re: just wondering...
it is all about doing it and practise over and over again. But some people learn it faster than other ones and some people are just born with it. but i think the most people learned it by just doing it and practise a lot.

you grow with every finished drawing. It's all about practise.
But a little bit talent is helpful for sure!

Re: just wondering...
welcome to the forum!
Your drawing isn't bad, but you picked a hard perspective/angle to draw from. Try drawing a lower angle. Alex

Re: just wondering...
You have the ability to do whatever you want to do. All it takes is hard work, dedication, patience, and above all, practice.

Now see spdrcr8 , I haven't been to any art school ( except art lessons at school but they don't helped me much) but I draw since I was a small kid. I read one or two books from the library, and a lot of tutorials. The rest, I learned from drawing, drawing, drawing... The picture is bad, but the drawing I can see on it is rather good. |

I believe that you are born with the talent, but you need to practice and expand on that to turn it into skill and ability. BTW do a search, I think that there was an old thread about this from a while ago.

Re: just wondering...
there really is no such thing as natural talent. it really all depends on how well you observe and comprehend what you see. the better you are at these the faster you will learn. as far as going to school to learn how to draw or reading books. it may help but it really all depends on how you prefer to learn. I have never read a book to learn how to draw so I really wouldnt know how effective they are. I took about 5 years of art classes but most of them were ceramics. if your interested in art classes I suggest really just taking the basics learning things like perspective, light source, and shading are really going to be the most important things to get you started then you will eventually move on to color and proper tool use. but practice and time are always the best teachers.
try not to compare yourself to alex though. he is light years ahead of most of us. which leads me to the conclusion that he found the crossroads and sold his soul to the devil. j/k alex
