95 lincoln new rack and pinion but in the morning still a little stiff why

i just put a remanufactured rack and pinion on my 95 lincoln continental and in the morning untill the car warms up the steering is a bit stiff is that normal also
the dash board is hard to see in the morning it dosn,t light up right away like it takes a few minuts untill the car is warmed untill the dash lights up it,s got that 3d dash board where it,s the one with like the mirror
but it,s like on dim untill that car warms can someone help me is that normal
