why so many newer vettes for sale?
i am looking for a zo6..
they are out there along with many non zo6s with low mileage.. many many newer vettes with low low mileage for sale .why? why do people get rid of them so fast.? is it the cost of gas? the maintenance, too many problems? or just too much of a car to drive daily and drive comfortably..? any one have any idea why this is happening? i think its because people buy them for fun then get tired of them after a short time.. not to mention all the problems i see in this forum bout problems with vettes.. also the recalls... and recalls on many american cars....... makes me wonder how well built they are.. i am ready to upgrade from my rice burner for some real american power..but im worried that i wont get the same reliability as my nissan.. dan |

There are alot of reasons for used corvettes. First it's a fairly expensive car when compared to your average Toyota Corolla. Higher liscensing (Depending on your state), higher insurance, etc. etc. It's also an impulse car to some degree. A lot of people think they can afford it when they can't. They buy it and the bills just overwhelm them. You find a lot of higher end cars for sale that way. There are also the people who can afford them. They drive it for a while and it's on to the next one. Corvette's also don't set the standard for warranty in the business. Where a lot of cars have 6-7 years or more Vette's have 3. Sure GM doesn't have the best reputation for recalls and breakdowns, but I think there's more to it than just that. The Corvette is simply not a car for everyone, even if everyone want's one. Just think of it like this: Can you imagine parking your brand new Corvette everywhere you park your "rice burner" now? Logistics change awful quick the further you go up the automotive food chain.
