2000 Passat - Sounds like an exhaust leak but not sure

I have a 2000 1.8t Passat w 51k miles, when I first start the car the morning it runs really loud until the car warms up, then it idles fine but when I accelerate it begins to run loud again almost like an exhaust leak. No check engine light on or any indication that anything is wrong. Any ideas? Thanks
