Angry Anoying noise while slowing down

Good day everyone,

I'm tired of my car. And truthfully I am at the point of hating it, taken it to the dealership with this problem 3 times while it was on warranty, now that its off warranty and going insane i need help. Dealership states its a normal noise on cav's, "not like you bought a corvette bud"

car is stock 2002 chev cav, 2.2litre, 5 speed manual.

When in any gear with foot on gas no noise, take foot off gas as car slows down there is like a loud rattle noise, almost like the dash is rattling, which it is not. It is loudest in the drivers seat, harder to hear in the passenger seat. Seams like 4th gear at 60km/h is the safe speed, and 3rd at 55km'h makes the most noise.

Anyway your thoughts would be great, I'll wait a few days see what you folks say, and then end up at the dealership again!

ok. you do have a couple things going for you. 2002 came with i think a 3/36k warrantee, if you went to repair this problem at the dealership before the warrantee is up, and it was never fixed, you are still within the warrantee period even if its a few months past. keep your records. if they attempt to refuse further repair of the same product you have a case for small claims or even criminal. you can claim they intentionally pushed you out of the warrantee period. i did this on my old squeeky brakes, they kept fixing without fixing. so i took them to court and they had to not only pay for hardships or whatever, they also paid for the performance brakes i put on . so yeah.

on another note, if you only have that problem during deceleration and the clutch is engaged, its tranny/clutch related, if its deceleration only when the clutch is pressed, its the clutch. if you've been hotroding alot in it it could be a throw out bearing or the like. id have to hear it to identify it, just trying to steer you in the right direction

also, what i would do, since the dealership is going to try to tell you its something its not, or the "cheap" way to fix it, take a dowel or straight stick and cup your ear to one end and go around/uder the car, pressing it up against things to see if you can identify a specific area the sound is loudest, thatll help identify it. that might be difficult when slowing down from highway speeds though lol
