Plus, if the speedo went any more they would have had to make the tach gauge smaller. I think that the look of a larger tach makes for a sportier gauge cluster. Also, there really is no point in having a speedo that reads any faster than 150...if even that fast. I like the equality look that the gauges give...and there is no point in having a speedo that reads faster than the car could...or should go. Now, the C5 and C6 Corvettes have a gauge that reads up to 200 I think....and thats understandable because the car is HELLA fast. But for this car I think that 150 is plenty of speed for it to be showing. I would rather it be the way it is than have a smaller tach.

really, whats it matter where mits stopped at? youre not going to be driving there on a daily basis are you? if youre worried about what top speed numbers are on the GUAGES, my friend, you have too much time on your hands. they lowered it to something more feasable. 100 is really all you need on any car. i believe it was carrol shelby who said "cars dont need to drive over 120, its just not neccesary." he said that when discussing the ford GT's 200 mph speed. really, who cares what the top speed is...0-60 is what counts. and not getting pulled over

Re: Top Speed

aww, did i hurt your efeelings? well i apologize, so you can dry up those tears mate. of ALL the different changes to compare the two cars to, you pick what the speedo guage says.

its not bloody rocket science, rather that of common sense. carrol might even have said 80 mph. im not sure right off the top of my head, it was in a magazine article way back.

bottom line- your not going to get your car there.

Actually the highest hp n/a Celica gt-s so far is like 193whp. That was with intake/header/exhaust/apexi power fc. The fastest n/a gt-s right now is only putting down 174whp. It ran 13.740 @ 101mph. Mods were : intake, unbolted stock exhaust, drag radials, and apexi power fc.

And to clarify, it's spelled VVTL-i...

Not really. Nobody makes cams for the 2zz-ge engine yet.. so not many people have gone through the trouble of getting high comp. pistons, valves, valve springs, etc..
