Re: simple question

Actually they are beginning to grow on me. If I was just getting into fast cars and I was looking to buy my first car I think it might be a " rice burner" . Of course I do like the new Mustang and GTO better than any "rice burner" . Not because they are American cars. (we all know there is no such animal anymore) But I like them because they have the horse power of the old v8s. In fact I liked the GTO so much I bought one.

Re: simple question

Now wait a minute, there are all american "animals" still out there, Chevrolet. Other than that there are none. Fords have mazda parts, chrystlers have mitsubishi parts. What is our world coming to?

Re: simple question

i worked for GM CPC framingham, Mass from 1973 until 1989 and i'm sorry to say that they all have imported parts. i watched everything change first the electronics, then they shiped all the 4cyl. engines to mexico, now they have GM trucks built in canada, i could go on and on but you get the idea. dont get me wrong i still wont buy an imported car or truck. i love my detroit iron and will defend it to my death. a better truck has never been made outside the USA. a more powerful muscle car has yet to be made outside the USA, my 67 Firebird had a pontiac 400 with 365 hp out of the factory, all built here in the USA. tell me of any factory built riser with that much balls. even today the corvettes and vipers have more hp out of the box than any rise burner out of the box unless you add nitros and supper charges from aftermarket manufacturers. look at my profile, i have never, will never own anything that isnt made here. you kids need to have a little respect for the men and women who build these cars and truck here in the usa, if you dont you will find yourselves in the same position. on the unimployment line. i remember asking the government for help in the 60's and 70's from the imports that were sold here for less than it cost them to make over there, now you boys in the computer industry are asking for the same help be cause of outsorcing. well just remember the men the stood on picket lines to get you a decent wage that you have now, even if you dont like the word union , if it werent for them you would still be making 50 cents an hour. i think risers suck.

Re: simple question

Ricers suck!! I know in my age bracket(20 years old) everyone has foreign crap but I prefer Detroit Iron anyday of the week. I love my 71 monte carlo and would take it over any civic or accord. My 2 cents-
