Changed my mind on my buildup.

I have decided to sell my 1966 coupe and buy a 87-93 Lx coupe. This was I can profit from the '66 a little and build my 351w instead of stroking my 302. I might go tomarrow to look at a '89 LX coupe 4cyl car. It has no motor, no tranny, and a sunroof. I dont think I like the idea of a sunroof, but we will see when I get there. The car is red and is supposed to have a good body. How much is too much for a 4cyl body? Also any tips/links for 5 lug swaps would be nice. If anyone is looking to buy a classic mustang let me know.

Re: Changed my mind on my buildup.

I wouldn't pay more than 1000 for a 4 cylinder. I bought a 94 ex V6 car for 1000 bucks and it was in great shape. It was a roller, body was solid with zero rust, straight frame, good condition interior.

I'm just licking my lips waiting for my block to get here

I wouldn't pay more $500 for a rollin 4 cyl shell. If it can fetch $1000, what is this world coming too

Yeah they are. And man, $4k for a 6cyl auto is a rip off. Unless the body/interior is in perfect shape.

Re: Changed my mind on my buildup.

Hey, if you are seriously interested in a 4cyl coupe rolling chassis let me know. I have one that's a started project, that is now just sitting. It's a 91 coupe, no motor or tanny, have an 8.8 but not in the car. Looking for $500 o.b.o with the rear and some other little parts. Pictures can be seen on my webpage under "Mark's car". Only thing is I'm up in Western Ma.

Exactly. But no I dont think I will get that much for it, or I would have said I was firm on the price.

On the 4cyl car you where talking about, is that the one thats missing the headlight? I'm in NC lol so that would be one hell of a tow bill. I'm just looking for a good body and an 8.8.

Re: Changed my mind on my buildup.

One quick question that I'm sure has been asked before, but I didnt think it needed a new thread.

How much tire will fit in the back of these cars? I'm looking at Weld Pro Star 15x8's in the front and 15x10's in the back. Will a 29x11.5 tire fit without have any issues when launching or anything? I dont know much about the geometry of these cars so any advice of traction would be great. Thanks.

If you're planning on an ET street/ET drag change that 15x8 to a 15x3.5 in the front. A radial tire up front plus a bias play in back makes for a disturbing ride on the top end.

IMHO not worth it to go to a 29" tall tire either, too much work getting it on the tubs. I had gone 1.35's on a 28x10.5W tire in a stock suspended fox car, and that extra inch just makes it a PITA to ever put a 26" tall normal street tire on it, and for fitment.
