Talking Changing fog light bulb

This is easier if you put your Alero on ramps or a hoise or on
jack stands (of course I'm old and have a hard time crawling
under the car).

Below the bumper there are several plastic protection panels.

The one you want is the one held in place by a bolt (10mm)
that you can see through the bumper cover below the fog
lamp. Remove this bolt and the plastic panel should drop down
so you can access the fog light bulb.

Grasp the bottom of the bulb with the wire connected and
twist counter-clockwise (from the bottom) and remove from
fog light. Disconnect the wiring plug from the bulb. It's held
in place with two snap locks. Simply pry each snap lock
on each side of the socket at the same time and pull the
bulb from the plug.

Since you are accessing the fog light bulb, it must be burned
out so you should have your replacement #894 bulb handy.

When installing the new bulb, DO NOT TOUCH the glass
part of the bulb. The oil in your skin will fry the bulb.

Grasp the bulb by the bottom and observe the location and
size of the locking projections just below the glass bulb
on the plastic base and how it fits in the fog light socket.

Put the bulb in the bottom of the fog light without the
wiring attached and twist clockwise until locked (1/4 turn)

Then insert the wiring plug into the bulb base socket (it
can only go one way due to a nib in the socket for that
purpose (Best to look at the bulb and plug prior to inserting
it so you can tell which wat to insert the plug when ready.

Re-attachthe protective cover with the bolt and Voila, you're
done!

Second post on thread;

Found out that you replace the fog light bulb by removing the headlight
(very easy). Simply pull up each of the two guillotine blade locks located
on the top rear of each side of each headlight. Pull up, which releases
the healight on each side (you may have to slightly wiggle or push the
blade lock slightly down to align the holes in the lock with the protrusions
on the back of the headlight) Then pull the headlight out toward you and
disconnect all of the wire leads (two twist-lock bulb wires and one snap
type plug connector). Once the headlight is out, you can see the fog
lamp below and the bulb can be replaced by removing the twist lock
connector and replacing the bulb. Reinstall in same reverse order.
