Fan Clutch on 98 Rodeo

Anybody knows what are the symptoms of a bad Fan Clutch on 6 Cylinders W 3.2L and how can it be tested?

Re: Fan Clutch on 98 Rodeo

With the engine off. grab on to it and pull it back and forth (toward the rad). If it moves it is bad.

Fan cultches on Isuzu are noise at start up.

If the clutch fan roars all the time, it's not doing it's job & will need to be replaced. The fan should slip at high speeds and be very quiet if it's internal valving & silicone fluid are working as they should. The fan should only kick in on a hot engine at low RPM's. The fan may occationally roar on a cold take-off, but it should stop by the next acceleration.

Thank You, I am going to look into it. How difficult is it to replace the Fan Clutch and where can I get one, my local Auto Zone doesn’t carry it
