tach reading

Have a 2003 150 5.4 at 60mph what should the tach read. On a long trip the other day it seemed like it was holding back.
Thanks
Ed

My 2003 Supercrew has the 5.4, auto. Tach at about 70 mph is between 1900-2000 rpms. It still drinks the gas at what feels like a low rpm.
