Personally i think preludes are way too over-priced, way too over-weight, and way too under-powered. i Would take the teg over the lude any day. now as for the timing belt thing...don't listen to that guy he just wants to sell u that car...change it every 60k miles because if u don't u will be forking up some major bills to fix... maybe this will explain: The belt runs from the crank around the water pump and up around the cam gears. As the motor rotates, the belt keeps everything-mainly the rotating assembly and valve train in sync. Due to the high duration of the cams on a vtec motor the valves close just before the pistons smack into them on every cycle. One slip or break and its bye bye motor.

ok, since i live only like 20 minutes away from you, maybe i can help. over on chapel hill blvd. there is a clean ass prelude right at the intersection where borders is. It was NICE, sick body kit, rims, looked really good. and it is sitting there in the grass FOR SALE. get there quick if you can, that car ain't gonna last.....
