automatic trans. cooler
I've seen these by TRD and Perma-Cool. Hasn anyone ever had problems with tranny temps and suggest an aftermarket product?

TRD has been used alot without problems that I know of.

Would you say that it was worth the money? I havent really had any problems with my transmission temps personally, but was looking into getting one purely for the fact that I want to work on the truck and have some spare cash lying around... have it down between a few options of how to spend it. Would you say that the TRD or other aftermarket tranny cooler is worth the money?
Thanks. |

Re: automatic trans. cooler
I don't think there is much in price difference between the two. I'd say go with the TRD simply because it's Toyota.

Re: automatic trans. cooler
It's worth the money if you strain your transmission by towing or driving off-road.

Re: automatic trans. cooler
Unless you really do serious speeding up/slowing down or hilly driving, I doubt having more power has much effect on tranny temperature, except for what I mentioned in the earlier post. That being said, having a tranny cooler won't hurt anything, can only keep it cooler - a good thing.
Now, if you haul freight in the truck, there's another reason to worry about tranny temperatures. Gadget seriously works his truck, so he better monitor his transmission temp. Check out his dyno run... |
