My 2000 kia will not start at -15c and colder. It is as if the car hardly turns over. Boosting the car does not make it turn any faster. PLEASE HELP.... COULD IT BE THE STARTER?????

I had that problem also a week or so ago when the weather here in OMaha got really cold. I had it jumped once. I have been told that the batteries for the car are too small. You might try putting the gas to the floor when trying to start it. I did that on advice from a friend and am having less trouble starting the car.

Re: 2000 Kia Doesn't Start In Cold Weather!!!
If yours is an automatic, the starter is probably double gearing and that makes the engine rotate rather slow, compared to the single geared type used on manual (I tell you this from the sportage...I may be wrong with the sephia) ...but indeed, a larger batttery AND full synthetic oil helps a lot in better starting.
