RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGHH!!!! Fujimi decals:(

Hey,

Fujimi decals suck alot!!!! I just finished the decals on some Subarus. After the foglight emblem ripped, I was luckily I have the spares from tamiya. The fujimi ones dried flat looking. I tried to brush a little tamiya clear on them, but it early ate it! Still looks flat. What can i do? I usually don't clear my bodies. But how can I make the fujimi decals as passable for realisitc?

Thanks,
Frank X.

what size were they? tiny 5mm badges, or full body vinyls?

i can only suggest, buy new (better) ones, or put up with them.

i've never used Fujimi decals, but i am going to soon, so when you work them out, i'd be interested in hints.

I've never had any problem with Fujimi decals. I'm not quite understanding what you mean by flat, either the decal isn't glossy, or look too thin for a badge.

If the problem is the former, you can carefully apply a drop of clear, and if the latter, you can apply the decal to a thin sheet of plastic painted in either the body color or black, cut it out and glue it to the body.

Hmmm...I love Fujimi decals. Did you try using MicroSet and/or MicroSol for the "flat look"?

It's a clear liquid floor polish, you can get it at stores like Walmart in the cleaning aisle.
Your Mom may already have some

Re: RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGHH!!!! Fujimi decals:(

I've only used Fujimi decals once and they worked fine for me. Although I do know what you mean about them having a flat sheen to them rather than a glossy finish. I don't mind that because their surface is very smooth not grainy/lumpy like some other glossy brands. If you don't want to go the clear coat method mentioned above (best option IMHO, but be careful the clear isn't too "HOT and eats the decals), then a light waxing may improve the gloss.
