illuminated entry system doesn't work

I've disconnected the battery for 2 days to reset the computer and now the illuminated entry doesn't work. Everything was fine before. How to fix it?I've got one more question - should the inside light turn off immediatly after I close the door (e.g. when I close the door from the outside)?My friend has the Saab and when I close the door of his car inside light stays on for about 10-20 sec.

My 94 stays on 10-20 seconds after I close the door. It's comes in handy when you fumble with the keys.
