Question 2000 2.0 contour engine

I need an engine for my 2000 2.0 contour ZX2 - 3 .I went to a couple
of salvage yards an they all said the same thing. That my car is " 2000
year only" for a replacement engine. Dose anybody know why. When I
ask them why they said I dont know, that is how it is listed.

Thank you
Mike

Re: 2000 2.0 contour engine

zx2 and focus have differnt motors then the contour.

the contour has a 2.0 VCT Zetec w/ a mild cam
the focus is a 2.0 Zetec w/ a little more agressive cam
the ZX2 is a 2.0 VCT Zetec w/ an agressive cam

you have a contour, you NEED to get a contour motor
