86 GRand Marquis pinging sound with regular fuel
My 86 merq. Grand Marquis makes that common "pinging" sound when accellerating especially uphill when i use regular gas., If I use Premimum it goes away. Is this mormal? I assumed the timing was off and asked a mechanic but he said you do not adjust the timing on that particular year car????

sounds like spark nock in th cilinders try a tune up and u should be able to run regular again thats what i had to do
