Several Problems - any help?
Hello friends,
I just purchased a 93' GM and it has a few bugs. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I can't get the headlights to work. While driving the vehicle home I switched on the lights. The taillights flickered w/ nothing up front. The fuses look good. The parking lights/brake/turn/rear/and highbeams all work. Any "weak" spots that may have burned out? In addition, the air bag light on the dask flickers on about every 3-5 seconds. This is'nt a prob. until I get in a wreck or it blows unexpectedly. Should I be worried? Thanks for all help!!! |

Re: Several Problems - any help?
Might just be a bad headlight switch. Any other odd problems with the electronics?

Re: Several Problems - any help?
Also, try jiggling the headlight switch to see if the lights come on and off....

I've tried the headlight switch "wiggle" with no results.
The only other electrical prob. is when I start using alot of options, air radio, lights, wipers etc. The lights on the radio will flicker and dim at times. Is there any way to check the headlight switch without taking the dash apart? Thanks for your help! |

Re: Several Problems - any help?
I'm not sure about the switch for that year and the dash, without taking a look at it.
Your issue with the heavy electrical load rings a bell though. I had problem once, the positive battery cable was somewhat corroded, and caused several odd problems until the car died one day. Check your positive cable; even if it looks good on the outside it could be nasty inside. Easy fix and inexpensive.
