1984 Thunderbird needs help

I have a 1984 Thunderbird that needs serious help. It shudders a lot, it sort of jerks from time to time, and it completely dies often when I stop at a light/stopsign. Most times I can restart easily, sometimes it is very difficult and I have to pump the gas to get it to start. Every now and then while I'm driving I'll push the gas pedal, but the car doesn't accelerate and then dies. I've taken the car to numerous mechanics and no one knows what's wrong. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: 1984 Thunderbird needs help

Have you changed the fuel filter and had the fuel pump pressure tested? The EFI could be clogging up. I'd recommend adding some fuel system cleaner. Seafoam seems to be what is recommended in here quite often. You have had a complete tuneup done to the car haven't you?
