ramjet 350?
Hi folks,
I have been searching for a replacement engine for my 64 corvette that would fulfill my need for speed and be as reliable as possible. The 350 ramjet looks interesting but may not have the guts I need for the occassional stoplight blast. What do forum members have to say about this engine? Can it be modded to increase power? Any 1/4 mile experiences? Thanks Last edited by allans91; 02-21-2005 at 01:13 PM. Reason: poor response to title |

Thanks for the info.
I'm really looking for feedback from those who already run a 350 ramjet crate engine, especially in a non computer car. What is the performance like? Any drawbacks to this engine? |

Re: help with new engine
well, no personal experience, but here is what i know.
Its baised on the ZZ4 engine core, which is quite possibly the standard in hot rod engine cores, rated at 355hp from the factory. On top of that they put on a set of Vortec heads, the new darlings of the budget small block performance crowd. and then they put on the RamJet MPFI system. Then its been tested to full production specs, and pretty much guarenteed to be bulletproof. As far as power, its always possible to make more. Like some say, you can stroke it out to 383, or put in a bigger cam, port and polish the heads. Tear it apart and take advantage of modern anti-friction and thermal barrier coatings, a set of equil length large tube primary headers, Higher power ignition system, and you can always look to nitrous, and forced induction.
