Cyl' Head Temp' Sender into D16 ?

Hi ppl

Im in the UK and looking to fit a Cylinder Head Temp' Gauge to my Civic.
Its a D16Y2 Motor, has any body fitted the sensor into the cyl head b4, as it requires drilling and tapping a 7/16 NPT thread into the head casting, and Id like suggestions as to where is a safe place ?

Cheers

Ok so why do you want a coolant temp gauge? Your car already has one from the factory, or are you talking about something else?

It measures the head casting temp. to avoid over temp damage

AUTOMETER CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE GAUGE

Part No 3336

Cylinder Head Temp. 140°-340°F
Includes electric sender. May be necessary to drill and tap threads into cylinder head.

Do you really need the sensor though is what I was wondering? I mean do you have something abnormal that would require it? It is not really that common that the head would over heat without the coolant temp going way up, or at least to my knowledge.

m8 Im using a zex wet nitrous, and wanted a fast indicator of the aluminum casting temp'

the electrical sender of the cyl' head temp' gauge is a far faster response than the stock water temp (which wouldnt increase till way after id melted the head)

check out the car through a link in my sig'

Gotcha, have you looked to see if you can find a place where there is supose to be something bolted up but there is nothing. Like it did not come with that part? If so you could just drill out the hole and tapp it. I am not familiar enough with your motor to point out a spot. Maybe I can find some pics. I will post back if I can find something for you.
