Bob,
You can do a web search on Google at the top of this page.
books4cars.com is one of the websites. I don't know if they have a shop manual specifically on the transmission, but it is usually covered in the Ford Shop manual.

AutoZone has Haynes manuals, and sometimes Chiltons. Unless you're looking for extremely detailed manuals that cover every little itsy bitsy problem, these works pretty damned good.

i have the haynes, chilton, and factory service manual for my 93 escort. the haynes and chilton are nice enough, mostly redundant with each other. they have the barest minimum of tranny info. if you wanted to overhaul your transmission, and knew the general rules, you might pull it off with the haynes/chilton (cant remember which one) exploded diagram. however, they werent designed for that, and they say so.

the FSM i got off ebay. i just typed in 93 escort manual every day for a week and one popped up. i wanted it quickly, and paid the buy it now 40 dollar price, but people who were willing to wait around and spin the auction game walked away wiht manuals much cheaper.

i am pretty sure the FSM has either full tranny rebuild info, or at least a hell of a lot more than the haynes manuals, et all, provide. however, they assume you have all the factory tools. im guessing a little tool-sense and the FSM manual would do fine.

good luck
anthony
