pulleys/exhaust/CAI

Does anyone know what the best cai is for a honda civic 99 lx 1.6L? I have an Iceman (go figure) as a cold air, but iwant to put a bypass because i dont want to even think about hydrolock. I also heard that light weight pulleys wont be a good idea because the engine is not internally balanced. And for exhaust i was just curious which would be the best that isnt loud and if anyone has anything good to say about Pacestter? I drive frequently and mostly city driving. Any recommendations?

The crankshaft pulley debate has been going on for a long time now, and with no resolve. The two sides do not agree at all. There will never be a time that everybody agrees on the pulley issue. I for one though feel that the crankshaft pulley serves as a harmonic balancer. I have seen no actual proof that the pulleys are bad, but I have seen no proof that the pulleys are safe either. So you have to ask yourself if you feel comfortable spending the money, then installing them for what maybe 5whp at most at the potential cost of damage to the motor. That is my view in the subject. Also it has been commonly known that the alternator pulley will cause the alternator to wear out quicker, especially if you have a sound system. For the intake I personally do not like the iceman due to it being plastic, I have an AEM and can't be happier.

Edit: sorry forgot about Pacesetter. They are cheap and they will rust out quickly. If you are going to keep the car for a while then look into a stainless steel exhaust system.

I was looking at aem with a bypass, hope its a good idea even though my mech said that i might be better off with an injen. So in taking your adivice and knowledge, the pulleys arent a good idea. I also know after reading all the other threads that outting in a cold air with new header and catback exhaust is not gonna give me top notch speed or performnce. I know this but i just think having mods is cool. And as long as my car is obnoxiously load its cool. Just wannna feel power from my little engine. Anything else you wanna recommend to upgrade i'll greatly appreciate. Thanks

I'd say go with the AEM, the injen CAI gives a check engine light most of the time and you kinda have to mess with them a little to make sure eveything is correct so you dont get a CEL. not saying its a bad intake, just not the easiest to install correctly.
as far as a loud and obnoxious exhaust, go with custom pipe, no resonator and an ebay N1 type muffler. cheap, annoying and people will know its you from blocks away...
