About a year ago I drove on a street that was flooded and it got up to the bottom of my headlights. It didn't stall out until I was thru the flooded part, but since then my Jimmy idles between 500-1000 RPM's. Also the gas gauge is correct until it goes under 1/4 tank then it jumps up and down randomly. This is an intermittent problem and it sometimes works great for two weeks, then it has a bad month or two. When it is idleing high, the transmission acts like it is slipping and won't switch gears until 2500-3500 rpms. This is killing my gas mileage. I've obviously changed my oil since then. Any ideas what it might be and can I repair it myself? Thanks for any help.

Re: 2000 GMC Jimmy High Idle & More
Clean the MAF sensor wires.
Clean the IAC valve.
