1985 celebrity fan switch/ AC
Hey guys.
We have a chevy celebrity with literally no miles on it, and it has been sitting in the garage for 19 years. WHen i started it up yesterday, i turned the heat on to see if it worked, it worked fine, but the fan switch would only turn the fan on when it was set to high. Low, or medium didnt work at all, just high. I thought we had this problem before, and we would jiggle the switch a little, and it worked for a while, but it isnt working again. How can we fix this problem? Is there any way to fix it WITHOUT taking the dash all apart? Also, when we tried to use the AC on the car, we found out that all of the freon leaked out, and the compressor kept kicking on and off every 5 seconds. We put the R-134A kit in the car, and everything seemed to work good again. But i turned the AC on again,. and the compressor is doing the same things again, but the air coming out is really cold. Also when the AC/heat is turned on, i hear a wierd sound comming from the engine, like a ratteling sound. Can anyone help with these problems? |

Re: 1985 celebrity fan switch/ AC
replace switch the hole pannel over the switch assembly just pops out then the switch comes out with a few 7mm bolts. the ac is running and shutting off the clutch ond turning it back on because your low on juice or the clutch is shot
