I have a 2000 2.0 Contour. I ordered an engine from a junk yard but
got the wrong one. Is there any way of proving it is not a 2000 eng. I looked in a ford Contour repair manual and it said the id is on the front side of block. The only numbers I see are RF975 or M6015 or 29K95.I called Ford and they said the numbers I gave didn't help.Im stuck with an engine i can't use. Thanks Mike |

Re: Engine ID 2000 contour need help
its a dohc 2.0 zetec with VCT, but that description can also be the ZX2 motor so you have to specify that its for a contour, if they cant tell from thaty then they are just stupid, and all i4 contours 98+ have the same motor.
Mind if i ask how you can tell its not the right motor? |

not the same.I checked with junk yards and they tell me it must be a 2000 year engine to fit a 2000 contour. Maybe this is a 97 thats what i'm trying to find out. Thanks Mike |

Re: Engine ID 2000 contour need help
