So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

Gahhh, Here is a pole
2 Shiva's
1 Brahma 15
1 Avalanche 15
2 Atlas 15's (sealed)
1 Koda 15
1 XXX

I can almost completely knock the shiva's but i threy it in there.
I can also almost knock the XXX as it is not only more expensive than the brahma but is less efficent and therefore needs more power which means an even more expensive amp. The Koda i am not expecint to give the SPL i am looking for but ya never know.
Im reall leaning towards the Avalanche 15 even though i am unsure of the coil set up and if it is 4ohm SVC what amp am i going to use and if it has a coil set up like the atlas, well im just confused about the atlas. WTF is up with this. they added an extra 2ohm coil with 1/2 the layres so that you cna have variable QTS? what will they think of next?
The NINe.1 is what i am leaning towards amp wise. maybe i will just feed it 450w and if i am un satisfied i will get another NINe.1. or maybe i should gat a NINe.2 and if i am unsatisfied get another NINe.2. can ED amps be wired as slaves/masters? Jesus i am loosing my hair over this. ive even done 2 installs with ED amps and i cant remember.

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

1 atlas 15s.. chad runs an atlas in his car. supposed to have awesome sq and im sure havin 2 of em will give you great output as well

about 600 wrms @ 2 ohms for an amp? if the nine.1 is 900 @ 2 ohms just keep the power down (not sure if this power rating is right but dont feel like goin to eDs site)

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

ED rates tham at 900w@2ohm. but they usually make around 1050w@2ohm w/ 14.4v. they rate at 13.5, most batteries are around 14.4v, 14.4 is the optimal for any "12v" automotive electrical system. 2 15's will be loud. now my problem is saccrificing all of my extra cab space...

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

yeah.. forgot about how they underrate their stuff.. well dude you could get somethin with less power for much cheaper.. an amp that does 600@ 2 ohms will be a lot cheaper than oen that does like 1500@ 1 ohm

I said Brahma even though I'm personally going with a XXX over the brahma, but that's because I don't want to wait on backorder.

I really wish SR20 would sell me his Brahma. I don't like the idea of spending $730 on an amp for the XXX. I don't like the sound of "ineffecient". But it's what I'll settle for. I want SQL, and I want it bad.

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

ANY driver that has 30+mm of excursion, great low end extension, and can go in a reasonably sized box is going to be inefficient, there's absolutely no way around it, it's the Iron Law. If you want better efficiency then you're going to have to sacrifice low end output or box size. The brahma really isn't much more efficient than the xxx at all, and a side effect of it being ever so slightly more efficient is that it requires a larger box.

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

Good Deal. so ive nearly decided. Avalanch 15, one ED NINe.1 untill i become unsatisfied. Im not likeing the brahma because that is nearly another $150. and for just about an extra 4mm of excursion...not worth it. especially since the avalanche more SA. Im thinking 7.5cuft tuned to 28Hz

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.

7.5 cubes is too big for that 15 esp. w/ a nine.1...... I'd try to get 4-4.5 cubes net

Re: So im down to....ehhhh You Choose! or persuade me.
