1997 Cadillac Deville Steering System
From time to time we have had the service engine remain on, the change oil message stay on after oil changes, as well as the abs come on when hitting a bump in the road. Today I went for an alignment for new tires and 30 minutes later attempted to back from a parking space when I heard a pop and immediately the alarm bell sounded and "service steering system" message appeared. I went back to the garage and my car would not restart and was told that maybe my alternator was bad. They charged the battery and later in the evening I had driven it about l.5 miles when the same thing happened again. I was able to get home and now the car will not start again. Could the garage have done something during the alignment to cause this to happen? Anyone have any suggestions as to the real problem?
