will ZC tranny bolt on D16A6 with no modifications?

i was wondering if anyone could help me out. will a ZC tranny bolt directly into my 90 Civic EX (D16A6)? will the stock axles and everything work? if not, what is needed for this tranny to fit? thanks.

90-93 teg axles plus the zc intermediate shaft that should come with the tranny. but yes, it will bolt up to your engine.

better gear ratio for accelleration.
u can even combine the A6 tranny and the ZC tranny, and get one hell of an acceleration upgrade.

wow that's interestin...but not too sure an auto zc tranny would swap too well, i'll ask around

when i go to do my tranny/engine swap and upgrade (swapping in a built d16a6 for boost down the road) i'll see if maybe i can get the zc auto tranny upgraded instead of the a6 auto tranny

Re: will ZC tranny bolt on D16A6 with no modifications?

thanks for your help. my stock tranny has the typical bearing noise at only 100k miles! so i found a deal on a ZC tranny for $150 but i guess i am going to have to come up with some teg axles. thanks again.

yeah my tranny "clicks" into gear sometimes with a clunk, so i'll be investing in a replacement sooner than i think

I was told by an aftermarket axle company (can't remember which one) that the 86-89 teg axles are the proper axles for the zc swap....

But, i'm sure you're right seeing as how you have a ZC...

They are 90-93 you just need to remove the dust seal at the hub for them to work

Re: will ZC tranny bolt on D16A6 with no modifications?

what is up with Honda tranny's getting that bearing noise? i have owned at least 5 that have had that problem. i bought a couple of them thinking it was the throwout bearing but after replacing that it didnt aliviate the problem at all. but i have a 97 civic that has 206k and the tranny is fine????

the throwout bearing/thrust bearing isn't what makes that noise...
It's the pilot bearing in the center of the flywheel that's making that noise. It has to be pressed out and the new one installed.
