Parking lamps trouble

I was wiring up the washer lights on a 00 tibby...bridged the washer lights and spliced them into the passenger parking lamp..first the driver side parking lamp went out then the passenger and the washer lights went out...the gauge cluster illumination light also went out...i checked all the fuses and the fusible links.. they are good...went back in and re-soldered all the connections and made sure none of them were shorting out on each other or grounding out..ne1 have ne suggestions?
all parking lamps are out right now all the bulbs are good and headlights and stop lights still work...turn signals work..
thanks

If you used LED's for the washer lights (Rice a Roni) you will need to put resistors in.

Re: Parking lamps trouble

tell me this...

how the hell do you bridge washer lights?

not possible. maybe you tried running them in series, which would be wrong. you have to run them in parallel to power and ground.

and i bet you didnt check all the fuses. theres a fuse box in the engine bay AND passenger compartment.

Come on over to my place bro. We can both give each other new ideas to completely screw up the electrical in our cars. Dont forget the strippers on your way.

the washer leds are made so that you hook them stright up to 12v. you neednt worry about resistance, they already have the proper resistors soldered in there.

if you have absolutely checked every single fuse in both boxes, then you might have done something different and fried your rheostat(dimmer switch.

do this. have someone flick the headlight switch while you are outside your car. in the engine bay fuse box, look at the relays(black boxes). find the one that is titled illuminations, or left parking light or something, and make sure you here a click when the person inside your car flicks the switch. if not, then you are lucky and only need a new relay.

it is your dimmer switch. it is located about where your left knee is while you are driving.

try making it so that the green/black wire runs stright into the black wire coming off of it. that should fix your problems.
