oxygen sensors

My 98 dohc Neon was running rough for about a week before the CHeck engine light came on. Took it in and had it checked out. Both O2 sensors were the problem. They didn't have them in stock so I chose to wait to try to do it myself. I filled up with gas that day, and have not had a problem in over a week with about 200 miles of around town driving. Is is possible that maybe I had a problem with the gasoline which caused the error code and rough idling??? Want to make sure before I drop a few dollars replacing both sensors. Thanks for any help.

Re: oxygen sensors

Wait it out till it does it agian maybe. It very well could have been the gas. There is water in the gas sometimes. If it does it agian then change them. I suggest yourself its cheaper. Heat it up and spray with some rust buster kind of stuff. Should slip right out.

Re: oxygen sensors

also make sure your gas cap is on tight, that'll definetly set a code because your evap system is not building enough pressure to purge.
