Gas Mileage has gone to crap

Hi guys,
My gas mileage in my 2000 Blazer LT has gone from close to 300 a tank to about half that. Not sure what's going on. No SES Light coming on. I did plugs wires cap and rotor about 3 months ago. Not sure where to start. Would the fuel filter be causing that?

Need help badly. Gas is too expensive to not be getting good mileage.

How many miles are on it?

What kind of plugs did you use? What did you gap them at?

What does your temperature gauge say when the engine is warmed up?

Does it run okay? Any spitting, sputtering, or stalling?

Can you smell gas?

Unrelated:

If you haven't done so yet you are do for some fresh anitfreeze, too. You also need to replace your radiator cap with a Stant from Advance Auto (stant is the best, but anyone other than AC DELCO will work). The AC DELCO cap that came on these trucks are defective and will cause you lots of problems if not changed out.

DEFINATELY! Change the fuel filter dude. Look up my recent post about it. Mine was disgusting ( I just bought the vehicle ) black shit poured out of it. HUGE difference in mileage after that. Also, what temp are you running at normally? As you'll see on here, it's a common issue for the Thermostat to go, and if the vehicle isnt running hot enough, it Kills mileage.

Plugs are regular bosch platinum. Temperature doesn't make it to 210 like it used to, but it not too far away. I haven't changed the radiator fluid since I bought the thing almost 3 years ago.

Sorry, also no gas smell or sputtering or stalling. Power hasn't been right though. Seems like the cars hesitates some.

Start with the basics. A new Fuel Filter is at the top of the list, then the Air Filter and PCV Valve as well. You might also try some injector cleaner in the gas tank too. The Bosch plugs might be a mistake! If so, you'll hear about it from the others on this Forum, I'm unsure about these specific plugs.

Bosch was an extremely poor choice, don't feel bad though I've made the same mistake. They are probably part of your problem. Where did you get them from? The autozone here advertises Bosch and will give you your money back if not satisified.

Change the fuel filter, air filter, and PCV valve as Rick said.

Where exactly on the gauge does it show? If the thermostat is stuck or partially stuck your economy will suffer.

You definitetly need to change your coolant. As old as it is, you need to inspect it for signs of sludging. If there is sludging it will need to be flushed and refilled. Then replace the cap with a Stant brand....anything but AC DELCO.

There is one of your problems.

Remove the Bosch plats and install only AC Delco Plats gapped properly.

Also, replace your air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, clean your MAF sensor.

hesitation could be those plugs you put in. everybody on here swears the Bosch Platinums foul easy and call problems in our engines.

what temp does your guys blazers run at. Mine runs at about one line past the midpoint between the 100 and 210 degree marks. Is this normal? By the way the weather is about 50 degrees F. if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help
