Plug Gap

Mike, Thats the plug part number my truck calls for in both the owners manual and the shop manual. Celica Tech said he didn't know the gap. I have not found a label in the engine bay that tells me which plugs I should use. One label gives the valve clearances and says no other adjustments are necessary. Another label shows the typical hose diagram. Hope you get your fuel mileage sorted out.

Thanks Clifton,

I removed the plugs last night and regapped them to 0.43. This gap sounds more believable than 0.48 to 0.52.

The Factory Repair Manual says:
Denso K16R-U11
Gap 0.8 mm or 0.031 inches

In the online 2003 truck manual, service specifications page SS30 shows the gap as .043". I did see a troubleshooting page that reads .031". So I guess it depends on where in the manual you look.

I just found out that Denso and NGK pregap there plugs to type specific specs. So, if you buy thease brand plugs, dont worry about the gap unless you are getting alot deaper than a tune-up.
