94 JGC Transmission/Driveshaft Alignment
I lowered the transmission from its mount to drop the exhaust system. Upon raising the transmission to re-attach to mount, the slip yoke on the rear drive shaft does not go back into the transfer case. It is cocked at an angle. Does anyone know why slip yoke will not slide in. Is there a spline where teeth need to intermesh? Could low fluid in the transfer case cause this? Please help.

Re: 94 JGC Transmission/Driveshaft Alignment
Quite likely the slip yoke has come off the splines far enough to allow the wheels to turn. This allows for mis-alignment of the splines.
Lower the transmission enough to turn the wheels and align the splines or just remove the driveshaft and reinstall it correctly. JD |
