I Have A 1998 Chilkoot Pathfinder The Compass And Outside Temperature Readout Would Stop Displaying Intermittantly, Then They Stopped Displaying Altogether.
I Believe I Have Located The Temp. Sensor Behind The Front Licence Plate, I Have Removed It Checked The Connection And Put It Back On Again This Did Not Solve The Problem, The Dealership Said It Is A Common Problem And I Can Bring It In For Them To Source The Ground Wire!! This Will Cost An Arm And A Leg! Has Anyone Found The Cause Of The Problem On Their Own? |

Make sure 10amp fuse{#9} is ok.If ok remove compass unit and tap into black wire at connector and ground to body close by.If that don't work your unit is faulty.

I have a same truck and it got the same problem, some time on and off by itself. you have no control on it but just by luck.

Re: Outside Temp. Sensor/compass
i tried to replace the fuse #9. it doesn't work either. if the unit is fault, why some time it works and something doesn't. it guess it might be something wrong other than the unit.
does anyone know how to fix it? |
