APC Projector headlamps, Free trick to increase visibility!!
Ok after about 1 1/2 almost 2 months now i have had those notorious APC projector headlamps on my neon, yes they have horrible low beams and seem quite cheap in quality. I found a modification anyone can do that does not cost 1 cent.
After driving a few times at night i figured that the lamps were just pointing way too high because when your a block away from a street light that has the street sign inbetween each light that is very reflective to the lights on your car they must be too high. After adjusting the lights a few times and testing them out i realized there was no way around their poor design.
I finally decided to take them off and set the tilt and the other adjustments to match my stock lights and deal with it. Well when i was about to put the lamps back on my car i made the discovery of why they are so horrible. Basically they put somethin infront of the bulbs to create a shadow thats why those lamps put out a light and it stops in a perfectly straight across fashon. The main discovery is that inside each of the low beam lamps there is a small "FLEXABLE" thin steel plate that creates this "shadow." All i did was take a screwdriver or something to provide enough leverage to bend that metal plate flat along the bottom and i guarantee you will be satisfied after doing this slight mod because i just drove around the block and i am amazed. Yet the bulbs are not hyper brights but i see 100% better than before.
Bottom line, remove the lamps, remove the bulb from the low beams and bend that metal plate down and you will improve visibality 10 fold, i am quite amazed and very happy now, and even happier that i didnt spend a dime!!
