New, please help. Car dies at random moments

My car has been dying on my when I'am driving. I was down shifting while going around a corner and the car tried to quit on me, by the way this is a 1989 Camry Standard All-Trac 4WD. Also when I start to go when I get a green light from a dead stop, it will die on me. Then when I try to turn it on it will turn over once and it won't do it for about 3 times and it will turn on with no problem. Is there a computer chip that maybe needs to be replace , fuel pump going bad, or something else?
