Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

Im pretty sure you already have two electric fans coolin your radiator. Thats what your talkin about right? Also upgrading the fans wont help performance much stockers do it just fine unless you have some serious modifications or need room for a turbocharger. peace

Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

theres two fans, one for radiator and one for a/c condensor or something. By supercharger I am guessing you mean one of those bilge pump electrics? you pretty much got all the bolt ons. only thing i can think of is underdrive pulley.

If your still not happy your about out of options. forced induction is about to only path now. Or you could always spray some go juice... peace

You mention cam gears, well how about Bigger cams? You will also need a performance intake manifold a long with a bigger throttle body unless you go for a 1G intake and TB swap & you'll need a cooler running thermostate. Venom fuel rail and performance fuel pump & regulator. *A performance water pump* Which a lot of people over look as well. If you're under a 97 then I believe you can get away with gutting your convertor. A light weight flywheel & pulley kit. Performance coil and Royal Purple fluids to reduce friction.

Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

I'm not aware of any supercharger made for the 420A that actually works.

Front mount CAI's are crap and make you look like you wish you had a turbo.

well the 420a is pretty good powerplant. most anybody says its junk, but you got to know what your doing. bolt ons give you some boost in power, but if you want more power sticking N/A look into a port and polish job, mild street cams, extrude hone intake(or new high flow), larger fuel injectors(or a few extra ones), aluminum flywheel, and the big one new pistons, rings, and rods(maybe even crank but your crank is good) and up the compression. but youve got most of the bolt ons that most people do.

Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

Front Mount CAI? go with an AEM v2 CAI,
sure you are missing a few things:

Plugs & wires
exhuast manifold or port yours
lightwieght flywheel
hyper ground kit
underdrive pully

is it worth it? well with out boost a GS is never going to be that fast with out a lot of Nitrous. You can spend a lot of money and not be happy with the results. If you want a faster car the GS isn't an ideal platform to start on. so i'd say no its not worth it. IMHO

I'm actually a fan of SC's over Turbochargers but anyway. I'm yet to find a SC kit for either a first or second GEN Eclipse/Talon and I've searched high & low.

Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

Dude they got superchargers for 2nd gen non turbo on ebay. They even sell installation kits with them. They are pretty pricey though, the solution, buy a dsm. lol

Re: Sup'in up a GS..is it worth it?

I dont know if thats what angel of night was talkin about but, Im talkin about a real engine driven supercharger. Not some plastic pos you can buy for less than a 100 bucks. I think this thing has been discussed before anyway. The one Im talkin about costs around a grand or so for the sc and maybe 3 or 4 hundred for the kit.
