94 JGC won't start, alarm system???
I locked the doors with the lock switch on the inside of the door and went inside the house. When I came out I unlocked the door with the remote. When I tried to start the car the lights flash like they do when the alarm goes off, but the horn does not honk. I also hear clicking (the fuel pump?) and the car won't start. Trouble codes were 12 and 55. I dont know what that means. I can't get the alarm system into the diag. mode that I've read about here either. Any ideas?

Well it was just a dead battery. I guess the flashing security lights are just Jeep's way of telling you the battery is dead. The first thing I did was test the battery and I had about 13.75 volts but I guess the amps were too low to crank. I pulled the battery and took it to the parts store and they said it needed to be replaced. Put the new one in and it fired right up.

94 JGC won't start
I just bought a 95 JGC about 3 weeks ago and had a very similar problem at the car lot. The only difference is we don't have the keyless remote(which if you have any suggestions on how to get it, it would be greatly appreciated), but they ended up putting a new battery in mine to. Come to find out I have to make sure that the shifter is all the way forward where it shows white instead of red. If the shifter is not all the way forward the vehicle will not start.

TJ - there is a guy on here (don't remember his name) but he has one from a demo that he drove awhile back, he still has the keyless entry remote for it. I am sorry I do not remember which thread it was. I will try to find out and get back to you.

If all you want is a keyless remote you can get one at ebay pretty cheap. And since its a 95gcl the owners manual will tell you how to program it yourself.
