fwd bashing

I hear people bashing on civics all the time because their fwd and no real sports car is fwd. Why arn't their any race cars that are fwd?
Does it have as much potential as rwd?

Re: fwd bashing

FWD is better during bad weather and I may be wrong here but, I think FWD has less Drive Train Power loss. Someone correct me if I'm wrong with some known facts.

I hate to agree, but no matter how fast your Civic is,wether it runs 11 seconds or 18, it's still really just an economy family car.

rwd is better for drag and drifting.
fwd is better for everything else and still does well in drag.

Re: fwd bashing

RWD for drag racing is better because the natural weight of your car switches to the back, which puts pressure on your rear tires (drive tires) and you can get some good traction, where as on a FWD the weight will shift to the back and it is easy for you to get wheel hop or a burnout. IMO RWD>FWD

But if you are serious about drag racing you run a stiff suspension in the rear and soft in the front with long "wheelie" bars. The long bars help keep traction on the front wheels.

for some reasion i know someone will say wtf do you need a wheelie bar on a fwd car for?...so to clear that up b4 it starts, its so the car dosnt "rock" back. it helps keep most of the weight on the front wheels. not to keep the car from hoping up in the ai like a rwd car would do with the right power and traction

Re: fwd bashing

If I was serious about drag racing I sure as hell wouldn't have a Civic.
