transmission fuild.. gear oil? 10w 40? wats best

well i went to my local parts store and bought some lakewood industries gear oil for my transmission since im installing a new clutch and a friend said that i should use 10w40 well i just wanna know what u guys think is best.. i learn what i know from u 4g guys! thanks

My buddy used 20W50 when switching out my clutch and flywheel but my car had a grip of mileage. Now I just use the Manual Transmission fluid they sell at the dealership. It's pricey, but my friend works there so he gives me a better price.

honda mtf and gm synchromesh seem to work the best.

how much was the honda MT oil cause im on my way there now b4 it closes?

I don't recall but maybe something like $5/quart give or take a dollar.

I'm using 10w40 Durablend motor oil and it works great.
