Adding More Fuel

Just wondering if theres a way to add more fuel to the system without changing the pressure regulator, or rail etc etc....
my car runs lean once and awhile at idle and need to fine a way to add more gas so it does run lean
any ideas?

EDIT: is there a way to maybe trick the ECU to add more fuel? like maybe add a bunch of tees to the vaccum line for the pressure regulator??

if you create a vacuum leak it will run nice and rich other than that, why not just get an fpr and gauge? Its pretty cheap and if your still planning on going turbo, you should have one anyways.

Re: Adding More Fuel

If you're getting your reading off an autometer A/F guage with a stock single wire O2 sensor, your guage is probably completley inaccurate so I really wouldn't take it too literally.

You really don't need any more fuel for your ZC, its probably running rich as it is, but those autometer guages really aren't worth a shit.

If you want some accuracy you need to run a wideband O2, otherwise you're just getting a cute little light show.

most ones i've seen are like 300 for the rail, and another 40 - 250 for the regulator, and right now i need to buy a new tranny

I've been thinking I have the same issue, but then I think about your words of wisdom SiZ and I realize that I'm just paranoid. I noticed I run lean with my light show until the car has been running for at least 20 min. and if I use the heat or other electronics it'll be inaccurate. I'm throwing a code 1 but I don't run rich ever (according to my light show) but I don't smell bundles of burnt fuel either so I'm stumped. I've estimated that I've gotten around 28-30mpg recently so I'm not really going to worry about it...

Re: Adding More Fuel

the B&M regulator is only 35-45 dollars and another 30-35 for the gauge on ebay or even on websites!

Don't cheap it out and go the ghetto way.

Get an safc if you want to be able to adjust fuel at certain rpms...

Re: Adding More Fuel

also, a rail is completly unneccessary until you are making major power.

Not to steal the thread, but my car runs rich as shit, and I most likely have a vacuum leak. Think if I fix my vacuum leak, the car with lean out a little bit?

no doubt. when theres a vacuum leak, vacuum pressure will obviously drop, just like when you have your throttle open. Your ecu thinks that the throttle is open so its dumping that much more fuel into the combustion chamber. An easy way to find a vacuum leak is to get something like carb cleaner, brake cleaner, whatever and spray around the engine near all the vacuum lines and fittings. if you hear the motor rev up at a certain spot, theres your leak.
