Would the leaking CPI injector most likely be the reason that I just had to replace a fully plugged Catalytic converter as well?

The IMTV valve is under the Vortec top plate on top of the engine. Remove both and look down with a flash light and look for pools and smell of gas and spots washed golden clean.

Do a search here for CPI injector to gain knowledge.

And yes, the unburnt fuel going into the exhaust system will destroy the cat.
