99 JGC center console shifter lights are dead?

They will work & then wont any idea what to do??

I'm not alone in the world.

I have the same thing too!!!! It went out a year ago, I had two dealers check it, had a stereo installer look for shorts, went thru the fuse box many times over.....nada....still no lights. I'm not sure if I posted this question, but glad you did and hope we can find a solution.

I should mention back then, I had some kind of smoking smell coming from the steering wheel area, prior to the problem. Again, everyone checked in that general area, but zilch....still no center console lights.

I'm thinking wire short somewhere, maybe there's an area known for the short?

Don't forget to check the grounds too besides the power wires. You may have a loose wire connection if it's working and then not working.
