Door wont open from inside

I have a 2001 wrangler and love it, but I cant get out of it! I have taken the door apart and found the problem,a broken clip. I dont know what the part is called in order to get a new one. It is a small white plastic clip that has a hole on one side. It is only an inch long, but it is causing me alot of grief. Any ideas?

off subject does anyone have problems with the plastic over the wheels fading from black to gray?

Thanks for any help
Darlene

call your local dealer and tell them that what you needis the interior door handle rod clip, they will know what you are talking about. tell them that it is the clip that connects the inside handle rod to the inside handle

I had the same problem. I've had the clip break a few times so I got frustrated and used a zip tie. That has worked perfectly since. It's up to you, but you can try it until you get it fixed.

I had the exact same thing happen. I found the broken white plastic piece inside the door after removing the door panel.

Half was still on the rod and the other half in the bottom of the door.

Went to a local dealer to get one. Guy looked it up on his parts # computer and said, "It doesn't have a part #."
So my first thought was, "GREAT, I've got to buy the whole freaking handle mechanism for a $.20 piece of plastic.

He said, "Let me see what I can find."

Came back with one he found in tool box.
Gave it to me F.O.C.

Hell of a nice guy.
